Wolfbyte Competes at the Peoria Central Illinois Regional

Hi everyone! It’s been a while, but Team 5822 is excited to update everyone on our season so far. Over spring break we competed against 37 other teams at the Peoria Central Illinois Regional. The competition was off to a great start after playing in a world record scoring match with Wild Stang and Mars/Wars during qualifications. Our alliance scored 127 points, and the match as a whole was the highest total score for a 2022 RAPID REACT match (244 total). The following day during alliance selections, we were chosen by the Huskie Robotics with Mars/Wars for the 4th seed alliance. Our alliance fell to the winning alliance in the semi-finals, but we put up a strong fight. We didn’t go home empty-handed! Mr. Rauch, a mentor since the founding of Wolfbyte in 2016, won the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award. He was awarded a trophy, a blue banner, and a signature Woodie Flower shirt signed by all the teams at the competition. We were hard at work all season and it was so exciting to see our work pay off in competition. We can’t wait for the Midwest Regional competition next week!
